In het Japanse Aichi wordt deze praktijkproef uitgevoerd door eigenaren van een Toyota Prius. Het opladen vindt plaats door magnetische resonantie.<!--more-->Magnetische resonantie werkt op dezelfde manier als &#8216;normaal&#8217; draadloos opladen, maar het staat een grotere afstand tussen de beide spoelen toe. De spoel in de Prius en de spoel in de bestrating bevinden zich nu enkele decimeters van elkaar, in tegenstelling tot de bestaande systemen waarbij deze afstand hooguit enkele millimeters is.\u00a0Het draadloos opladen duurt net zolang als de laadcyclus via de kabel: anderhalf uur.
