In de eerste plaats omdat het volledig cameragebaseerd is, ten tweede omdat het al ruim 14 jaar op de markt is. In mei 2008 werd het systeem voor het eerst op een Legacy geleverd. Onze eerste kennismaking was rond 2014, sindsdien zijn er in Europa zo&#8217;n 150.000 Subaru&#8217;s met EyeSight geleverd. Het systeem is gebaseerd op stereocamera&#8217;s waardoor het systeem diepte kan zien. Al in 1989 leverde Subaru stereocamera&#8217;s waarop het veiligheid- en comfortfuncties (adaptieve cruise control) gebaseerd was. Dat is 33 jaar geleden beste lezers, ruim voordat enig ander merk met actieve bestuurdersassistenten kwam.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020 opende Subaru een ontwikkelingscentrum voor Artificial Intelligence in Shibuya, hier worden de camera&#8217;s en beeldherkenningssoftware ontwikkeld. Dit heeft geleid tot EyeSight X, dit systeem bestaat uit stereocamera&#8217;s met een grote kijkhoek die gekoppeld zijn aan vier radars &#8211; in elke bumper twee. EyeSight X biedt actieve ondersteuning, zoals rijstrookwissels, het afremmen voor bochten en autonoom filerijden. In juni dit jaar vierde Subaru een belangrijke mijlpaal, want de 5 miljoenste Subaru met EyeSight is toen gebouwd. Meer weten over Subaru?
