De CX-60 wordt een plug-in hybride, met een systeemvermogen van 300 pk. Het is de eerste van twee nieuwe modellen, die boven de CX-5 gepositioneerd worden. Mazda spreekt dan ook van modellen uit de Large Product Group. De CX-60 is Mazda&#8217;s eerste plug-in hybride, en de specificaties van de aandrijflijn klinken ons bekend in de oren: een 2,5 liter viercilinder met driehonderd pk is geen onbekende in Toyota-kringen, of Suzuki <em><a href=\"https:\/\/carnold.nl\/en\/rijtest-suzuki-across\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">for that matter<\/a>.<\/em> Toegegeven, dat is speculatie, want Mazda is ook prima in staat om zelf uitmuntende motoren te bouwen. Of er een volbloed SkyActiv onder de motorkap ligt, blijft nog even afwachten, maar spannend is het wel. Uit eerdere berichtgeving valt op te maken dat de nieuwe CX-modellen achterwielaandrijving krijgen, en dat de CX-60 familie ook een -70, -80 en -90 versie krijgt. Daarvan zal ook de CX-80 naar Nederland komen, de -70 en -90 zijn voornamelijk voor de Noord-Amerikaanse markt bestemd. Of de CX-80 wezenlijk anders is qua platform, is nog niet bekend, het enige dat Mazda tot dusverre heeft bekendgemaakt is dat de CX-80 drie zitrijen
