Toyota heeft de GR 86 onthuld, de opvolger van de GT 86. Een compleet nieuwe auto, met een grotere cilinderinhoud dan zijn voorganger en nog altijd een boxermotor. Ook de GR 86 heeft een tweelingbroer die een Subaru-badge draagt.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Dat Toyota en Subaru opnieuw een samenwerking aangingen was al bekend, want de opvolger van de BRZ was in Japan al onthuld. De naamwisseling van GT 86 naar GR 86 is logisch: Toyota levert immers al de GR Yaris en de GR Supra.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

86?<\/h2>\n

Het getal ’86’ geeft wel stof tot nadenken: dat sloeg immers op de boring x slag, 86 x 86 millimeter. De nieuwe GR 86 heeft echter een 2.4 liter motor en een andere boring x slag verhouding. Gelukkig is de architectuur van de motor niet gewijzigd: Subaru ontwikkelde een nieuwe viercilinder boxermotor voor de sportcoup\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Digitaal instrumentarium<\/h2>\n

Het interieur lijkt in opzet veel op dat van de GT 86, maar alles is nieuw. Gelukkig zijn de fantastische zitpostie en de ideale plaatsing van stuur en pook gebleven. Op de middenconsole zien we een fors infotainmentscherm, het instrumentencluster is vervangen door een beeldscherm, dat zal de wenkbrauwen van puristen wellicht doen fronsen. In zo’n sportwagen horen analoge metertjes, toch? De drie draaiknoppen van de verwarming \/ ventilatie herkennen we uit de voorganger. Als je goed kijkt, zie je dat de GR 86 zelfs gescheiden klimaatregeling heeft!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

De GT 86 was al een behoorlijk fijne auto, een belangrijk deel van zijn rijeigenschappen kwamen op het conto van de carrosseriestijfheid. De nieuwe GR 86 heeft een nog hogere torsiestijfheid: die is 50% hoger dan de vorige. Dankzij de boxermotor is het zwaartepunt laag als vanouds en zijn de rij- en stuureigenschappen nog verder verbeterd. Het aluminium dak draagt daar een aan bij. Het beste nieuws is dat de GR 86 ook naar Europa komt en ook gewoon bij de Nederlandse Toyota-dealers in de showroom zal staan.<\/p>\n
