Het Europese debuut past bij de uitbreiding die Geely hier voor ogen heeft, met zowel volledig elektrische auto\u2019s als plug-in hybrides in verschillende segmenten. De MONJARO EM-i vormt daarbij een uitbreiding naast de STARRAY EM-i, terwijl de elektrische E2 en E5 andere delen van de markt bedienen. Over prijzen, accucapaciteit en elektrisch bereik houdt Geely in het persbericht van 5 oktober nog de kaarten tegen de borst.<\/p>\n<h2>Nieuw platform voor het topmodel<\/h2>\n<p>De MONJARO EM-i is voor Geely de eerste plug-in hybride SUV in het D-segment die wereldwijd op de markt wordt gebracht. Het model maakt gebruik van de GEA-Evo-architectuur, een platform voor ge\u00eblektrificeerde auto\u2019s dat verschillende aandrijflijnen ondersteunt. Geely legt daarbij de nadruk op een effici\u00ebnte benutting van de beschikbare ruimte, met een ruim interieur en comfort voor de inzittenden als belangrijke uitgangspunten. Concrete buitenmaten, het aantal zitplaatsen en de inhoud van de bagageruimte worden in deze aankondiging nog niet genoemd, waardoor de praktische verschillen met de kleinere modellen voorlopig niet in cijfers zijn uit te drukken.<\/p>\n<p>Naast het voertuigplatform gebruikt Geely de GEEA 3.0 elektronische architectuur, die de digitale en elektronische systemen in de auto aanstuurt. Dat is een andere laag van de techniek dan het GEA-Evo-platform: het ene vormt de basis van de auto, het andere organiseert de elektronica. Voor de aandrijving gebruikt de MONJARO het EM-i Super Hybrid-systeem, waarmee Geely een laag energieverbruik belooft. De E2 is een compacte, volledig elektrische stadsauto, terwijl de eveneens elektrische E5 meer ruimte biedt en als SUV op dagelijks gebruik is gericht. De STARRAY EM-i combineert, net als de nieuwe MONJARO, een plug-in hybride aandrijving met de mogelijkheid om langere afstanden op brandstof af te leggen. Daarmee kiest Geely voor meerdere aandrijfconcepten, in plaats van zijn Europese plannen uitsluitend op volledig elektrisch rijden te richten.\u00a0De naam MONJARO verwijst naar de Kilimanjaro, de hoogste berg van Afrika, en ook het ontwerp is volgens Geely door berglandschappen ge\u00efnspireerd. Voor potenti\u00eble kopers zullen vooral het bereik, de ruimte en de prijs bepalen hoe interessant dit nieuwe topmodel wordt.<\/p>\n<p><a
