Maar kortgeleden werd de <a href=\"https:\/\/carnold.nl\/en\/toyota-aygox-wordt-hybride\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AygoX Hybrid<\/a> onthuld, en nu is het de beurt aan de Land Cruiser om ook als hybride door het leven te gaan. Deze levert zijn vermogen aan een starter \/ generator die de dikke diesel assisteert, met maximaal 12 kW aan vermogen en 65 Newtonmeter aan koppel. Deze startdynamo neemt ook de motorstarts voor zijn rekening en heeft een dynamisch start \/ stop systeem: afhankelijk van de ingeschakelde verbruikers (verwarming of airco) kan de stoptijd beperkt worden. Toyota zou Toyota niet zijn als de betrouwbaarheid van het systeem niet tot in detail doordacht is. In dit geval is het hybridesysteem aangepast voor het zware gebruik van de Land Cruiser, dus ook voor offroad gebruik en bij het waden in dieper water. De accu is uiteraard compleet waterdicht en wordt gekoeld door de interieurlucht &#8211; zoals we bij normale hybrides ook zien.\u00a0 De starter \/ generator drijft de krukas aan via een riem, ook dat is gebruikelijk bij mild-hybrides, maar Toyota heeft een twee-armige riemspanner ontwikkeld die de hoge compressie van een dieselmotor de baas kan. Hierdoor kan schokvrij en bij hogere toerentallen worden gestart.<\/p>\n<p>Alle Europese versies van de Land Cruiser worden met dit systeem uitgerust.
